Step-by-Step Guide: How to Migrate to DNS V2
Welcome to the DNS V2 migration process. This guide will walk you through migrating your domains from our legacy V1 system to the new, high-performance V2 platform.
You can access your personal migration dashboard by logging into your Sitelutions account and clicking the DNS V2 Migration link in the sidebar.
Understanding the Migration Page
The migration page lists all your domains that are still on the V1 system. Before a domain can be moved, its nameservers (NS) must be pointing to our new V2 servers:

The page will show you the current status of each domain:
This means your domain is not yet pointing to the new V2 nameservers. The "Details" column will show what our system currently sees. You must update your nameservers at your domain's registrar to
ns6.sitelutions.com and ns7.sitelutions.com.Excellent! Our system has confirmed that your domain is correctly pointing to
ns6.sitelutions.com and ns7.sitelutions.com. It is now ready to be migrated.This means you have already clicked the "Start Migration" button for this domain. The process is now being handled automatically in the background. You do not need to do anything else for this domain.
How to Start the Migration
Step 1: Point Your Nameservers
For any domain with the "NS Update Required" status, you must log in to your domain registrar (the company where you purchased the domain) and change the nameservers to:
ns6.sitelutions.comns7.sitelutions.com
After you make this change, it may take some time (from a few minutes to several hours) for the update to become visible to our system. You can use the "Refresh Statuses" button on the migration page to check again.
Step 2 (Automatic Option): The "Auto Update" Checkbox
If your domain is registered with Sitelutions (marked as "Sitelutions" type on the migration page), you can skip Step 1.
Simply check the "Automatically update nameservers for my domains registered with Sitelutions" box at the bottom of the page. When you click "Start Migration", our system will automatically update the nameservers for you.
Step 3: Start the Migration
- Select all the domains that are "Ready for Migration" using the checkboxes on the left.
- (Optional) If you have "Sitelutions" type domains, select them and check the "Automatically update nameservers" box.
- Click the "Start Migration" button.
What Happens Next?
After you click "Start Migration", the process is fully automatic, but it is not instant.
- Your selected domains will be marked as "Migrated" or "Importing" in the list.
- In the background, our system queues all the tasks: creating the new V2 zone, importing all your V1 DNS records and redirects, and (if selected) updating your nameservers.
- For large domains (100+ records), this import process is handled by a separate background task and may take several minutes.
- Once all tasks are complete and the domain is fully active on the V2 platform, it will be automatically removed from this migration list.
Once you have migrated your first domain, your main "DNS Management" link in the client area will take you to the new V2 interface.
